Dress Code

Course and Clubhouse

Balcarrick Golf Club maintains a modern and forward-thinking approach to dress standards, ensuring that all members and visitors reflect the traditions and values of the Club. It is our collective responsibility to uphold smart, casual attire appropriate for golf, both on the course and within the clubhouse.

On the Course and Practice Facilities

Neat, conventional golf attire is required. The following are not acceptable:

  • Jeans, tracksuits, cargo or combat trousers

  • Football or rugby-style shirts, t-shirts, vests, or sun tops

  • Non-tailored shorts, football or beach shorts

  • Sandals, trainers, or metal-spike golf shoes

  • Golf hats worn incorrectly

Additional note: Mobile phones should be on silent and used only in cases of medical emergency.

In the Clubhouse

Smart casual attire is expected at all times in the Bar, Restaurant, and Clubhouse. The following are not acceptable:

  • Tracksuits, or jeans that are tie-dyed, cut, torn, or ragged. Clean, presentable denim is permitted

  • Football or rugby-style shirts

  • Non-tailored, football, or beach shorts

  • Footwear used on the course (to avoid safety issues and dirt)

  • Hats (except in exceptional or understandable circumstances)

Responsibility

Members, guests, and visitors are expected to adhere to this dress code at all times. Management may issue temporary waivers for specific events, which will be communicated in advance. We encourage self-regulation of attire and aim to avoid placing staff in difficult situations regarding compliance.
