Signature Holes at Balcarrick Golf Club

7th Hole – Par 3 – 135 metres

Affectionately known by members as “Amen Corner”, a short but unforgettable par 3 that demands precision and nerve. With a lake stretched directly between tee and green, there is no hiding from the challenge—club selection and accuracy are everything. The green itself is subtly contoured and well protected, rewarding a brave, well-struck shot while punishing anything short. It’s a hole that captures the spirit of Balcarrick: visually striking, strategically testing, and always leaving golfers with a story to tell.

14th Hole – Par 4 – 385 metres

A standout par 4 that combines beauty with strategy, making it one of the course’s true signature tests. Redesigned in the 2007 redevelopment, the fairway now hugs the right boundary and runs alongside a large, glistening pond that demands both accuracy and confidence from the tee. Guarding the approach is the striking “beach bunker,” sculpted to look naturally eroded into the landscape, which adds both visual drama and real danger. With water, sand, and subtle contours all in play, the 14th rewards smart course management and a steady nerve, offering golfers a hole that is as memorable as it is demanding.

18th Hole – Par 4 – 400 metres

A superb finishing par 4 that perfectly captures the character of the course. From the tee, golfers face the challenge of carrying a reeded lake to find the fairway, with accuracy off the driver setting the tone for the hole. The approach shot is no less demanding, as a slightly elevated green is tightly guarded by bunkers on both sides, punishing anything offline. It’s a hole that rewards bravery and precision, ensuring your round ends on a memorable—and potentially decisive—note.
